About Recovery Fest
Born from discussions at the Combatting Drugs Partnership Anti-Stigma Forum, Recovery Fest is the first event of its kind in Wirral. It will bring together people in recovery, their families, professionals, and the wider public for a full day of music, art, creativity, and connection.
This multimedia celebration will feature:
🎶 Live performances – music, spoken word, theatre
🎨 Art and photography exhibitions
🎬 Short film screenings
🤝 Mutual aid meetings (AA, NA, CA, SMART Recovery)
🧘 Wellbeing activities – yoga, mindfulness, acupuncture
✍️ Creative workshops and storytelling sessions
Wirral Ways at Recovery Fest
Wirral Ways will be there throughout the day with a strong presence – and we’re especially excited that the Wirral Ways Recovery Choir will be performing.
We’ll also be hosting wellbeing sessions, joining panel discussions, and celebrating with the whole community as we mark the power of recovery together.
Programme Snapshot
🌅 Morning (reflective) – mutual aid meetings, art exhibitions, gentle wellbeing sessions
🌞 Afternoon (interactive) – creative workshops, panel discussions, live performances
🌙 Evening (celebratory) – music, spoken word, storytelling, and closing celebration
The day runs from 10:00am to 7:30pm, followed by a special after-party at Rek 41, Wirral’s sober meeting place.
Why It Matters
Recovery Fest is about more than just performances and activities. Together, we aim to:

✔️ Highlight the talent and contributions of people in recovery
✔️ Increase public understanding of recovery journeys and available support
✔️ Strengthen connections between services, communities, and decision-makers

Recovery Fest is co-created with lived experience voices at its heart. Partners include: Wirral Ways, Spider Project, Nightingales Recovery CIC, YMCA, Wirral Mind, CWP, Tomorrow’s Women, Merseyside Police, and more.
