For Alcohol Awareness Week 2026, Heather Geggie, Recovery Coordinator on the alcohol team at Wirral Ways, shares three signs it may be time to seek help.
- You drink more than you planned
You go out after work meaning to have one or two drinks and end up drinking a lot more. Or you plan to drink at the weekend and end up drinking every night instead.
- It’s affecting your daily life
It’s affecting you getting up for work without feeling groggy. It’s affecting your concentration, your relationships, your motivation to do anything.
- You’ve tried to cut down but you can’t
You’ve promised yourself you’ll drink less, but you don’t. You promise yourself you won’t drink as many days, but you do.
If any of this sounds familiar, it may be a sign you need a bit of support. The earlier you spot these signs and act on them, the better. Come to us and we can help you and give you all the support you need.
