We’re pleased to share that Wirral Ways now has four new portable induction loops, helping us make our services even more accessible to people who wear hearing devices.
What is an induction loop?
An induction loop is a piece of equipment that improves sound quality for people who wear hearing aids or cochlear implants with a telecoil setting. It works by transmitting sound directly to the hearing device, cutting out background noise so conversations come through clearly.
Why we’ve introduced them
Accessibility and inclusion are at the heart of everything we do at Wirral Ways. Our new induction loops mean that anyone who wears a hearing device can take part fully in the support we offer, whether that’s a one-to-one session, a medical appointment, a group session, or any other intervention.
Where to find them
The loops are portable and battery operated, so they can be used anywhere in the building or off site. You’ll find one based at each of the following locations:
- Market Street, Birkenhead – medical side reception
- Brighton Street, Wallasey – reception desk
- Price Street, Birkenhead – main staff office
- Nightingales, Argyle Street, Birkenhead
How to access one
If you or someone you support wears a hearing device and would benefit from using an induction loop, just ask a member of staff at any of our sites. They’ll be happy to help.
