Wellbeing Activities

At Wirral Ways we believe that health and recovery are about more than appointments and clinical support. Taking part in wellbeing activities helps people build confidence, connection, routine, and enjoyment while supporting mental, physical and emotional health. These activities are open to people at all stages of recovery, whether you are just starting to think about change or already working toward your goals.

Our timetable includes a wide variety of wellbeing groups and activities designed to help you feel better in body, mind, and spirit. You can find the full schedule on our timetable page.

Physical Activity and Social Sport

Football Sessions
Take part in regular football sessions that bring people together for movement, fun, teamwork and connection. These sessions are about enjoyment and wellbeing above performance.

Netball Sessions
We run weekly women’s netball sessions in partnership with local partners, welcoming women who use our services and those in recovery to play, have fun and build confidence through sport.

Walking Group and Outdoor Activities
Walking groups and opportunities for gentle outdoor activity help you connect with nature, improve fitness and enjoy relaxed social time together. These are great for stress relief and social connection.

Gym and Physical Wellbeing
Access to gym sessions and light physical activity supports physical health, boosts endorphins, and gives people a safe space to move more and feel fitter.

Mind, Body and Relaxation

Yoga
Yoga sessions focus on gentle movement, breathing, and relaxation. They can help reduce tension, improve flexibility, and support stress management.

Mindfulness and Meditation
Mindfulness sessions offer practical tools to calm the mind, stay grounded, and manage difficult thoughts and emotions.

Reiki
Reiki is a gentle energy-focused practice that supports relaxation and emotional balance. These sessions are usually available by booking with staff.

Breathwork
Breathwork sessions use focused breathing techniques to help reduce anxiety, centre attention, and calm the nervous system.

Creative and Expressive Support

Art Therapy and Creative Wellbeing
Creative activities such as art, drawing and similar sessions give you space to reflect, express feelings, and explore thoughts in non-verbal ways. These sessions can be calming, restorative, and insightful.

Mental and Emotional Support

Counselling and Talking Therapies
Counselling provides confidential, supportive space to talk through experiences, emotions and goals, helping you build awareness, resilience, and insight.

Wellbeing Courses
Structured wellbeing courses are designed to build skills in self-care, stress management, coping strategies and emotional regulation.

Relaxation Group
Relaxation sessions focus on slowing down, soothing the body and mind, and giving you practical techniques to use in daily life.

Community and Connection

Recovery-Focused Groups
We offer a range of recovery and peer groups where people can meet others with shared experiences, support one another, and build social networks that support long-term wellbeing.

Social Drop-Ins and Cafés
Regular coffee mornings, social drop-ins and community cafés provide welcoming spaces to relax, talk, connect and feel supported without pressure.
