Our Price Street Hub is a specialist site in Birkenhead focused on structured alcohol treatment, clinical support and group based recovery.
This hub plays a key role in our alcohol pathway and wider recovery programme. It is home to our Nurse Alcohol Assessments and our Alcohol Ambulatory Detox programme, as well as a range of group rooms, a gym space and our dedicated training room.
Please note that routine 1:1 recovery worker appointments do not take place at this site.

Nurse Alcohol Assessments
Comprehensive clinical assessments with a specialist nurse to explore alcohol use, physical health and treatment options. -
Alcohol Ambulatory Detox Programme
Structured, medically supported detox delivered in the community. This is where our ambulatory detox takes place, with close monitoring and clinical oversight. -
Clinical room facilities
A dedicated clinical space used for alcohol treatment interventions and health monitoring. -
Structured recovery groups
Large and small group rooms are used for educational sessions, therapeutic groups and alcohol focused programmes. -
Gym and wellbeing space
Supporting physical health, routine building and overall wellbeing as part of recovery. -
Training room
Our training suite is based at Price Street, hosting staff development, volunteer training and partner agency sessions.

If you have been referred for a Nurse Alcohol Assessment or ambulatory detox, our team will guide you through every step of the process, ensuring you feel informed, safe and supported throughout.

Wednesdays from 5pm is a dedicated space for people that present as male.
Where is the Price Street Hub located?
We are based in Birkenhead town centre, making us easy to reach by public transport and on foot from local shops and services. Our address is Wirral Ways, Suites 1-3, Market Wells, Price Street, Birkenhead, Wirral, Merseyside, CH44 6JN.
Is there parking available?
There is no dedicated Wirral Ways car park at this site. Parking can be very limited at this site, there is limited paid on street parking outside the hub. The closest carparks are Argyle Street and Conway Park.
If you are attending anappointment and have mobility needs, please speak to us in advance so we can discuss the best access options.
Can I get there by public transport?
The nearest train station is Hamilton Square or Conway Park, which is within walking distance. Birkenhead Central station is also nearby and connect directly to Liverpool and other parts of the Wirral via the Merseyrail network.
The building is easily accessible by bus, with Birkenhead Bus Station only a few minutes away on foot.
Is the building accessible?
We aim to make our services as accessible as possible. The building is accessible for people with mobility needs. If you have specific access requirements, please contact us ahead of your appointment so we can make any reasonable adjustments. All public facing activities take place on the ground floor where level access/ramp access can be provided.
Do I need an appointment?
For many of the groups that run here, you can just turn up. Others are referral only. There are no dropin clinical or 121 appointments here. For the gym, most classes are just turn up and take part. To use the gym equipment you need an induction.
For training, you need to book on. This can be booked here.
What if I am running late?
Please call us as soon as possible. We will always try to accommodate you, but late arrival may mean we need to rearrange your appointment.
Is the service confidential?
Yes. Your privacy is very important to us. We will explain confidentiality clearly during your first visit.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes, you are welcome to bring someone with you to your appointment if that makes you feel more comfortable. This could be a friend, family member, carer or support worker.
We will always check with you first to make sure you are happy for them to be present during your appointment. There may be times, particularly during assessments or medical reviews, where we ask to speak with you alone for part of the session to protect your confidentiality and make sure you have space to talk openly.
If the person attending with you has any access needs, or if you require an interpreter or advocate, please let us know in advance so we can make the right arrangements.
Your comfort and safety are important to us, and we will work with you to make sure you feel supported when you visit.
I feel nervous about attending. What should I expect?
It is completely normal to feel anxious. When you arrive, you will be welcomed by our reception team. You will then meet a member of our team in a private room to talk through your needs at your pace. There is no judgement, only support.
