My keyworker told me I had more fire in my belly than that. She believed in me when no one else did, and that helped me believe in myself again.

Welcome to Wirral Ways

Wirral Ways provides free, confidential support for people affected by drugs, alcohol, and gambling across Wirral. We work with individuals, families, and communities to improve health, wellbeing, and recovery, meeting people where they are and supporting them at their own pace.

Whether you are looking for advice, treatment, harm reduction support, or just someone to talk to, we are here to help.

Babs, a Wirral Ways volunteer, proudly holds a framed certificate for “Adult Learner of the Year Award – Wirral,” presented by Liverpool City Region. She stands smiling in front of a green background filled with handwritten inspirational messages. Babs is wearing a floral blouse and a Wirral Ways lanyard.
Bill, a Wirral Ways volunteer, is assisting a service user inside the Needle and Syringe Programme (NSP) room. Bill is reviewing paperwork at a desk, wearing a Change Grow Live lanyard. The setting includes educational posters and safe disposal bins in the background.

Support that puts people first

We know that everyone’s experience is different. Our approach is non judgemental, compassionate, and focused on what matters to you. You do not need to be in crisis to reach out and you do not need to know exactly what support you want. We will listen, talk things through, and help you find the right next step.

Our support includes one to one help, group sessions, health and wellbeing services, harm reduction, and recovery focused activities, all delivered by experienced and caring staff and volunteers

A safe place to start

You can contact Wirral Ways at any stage, whether you are seeking long term support, looking for information, or worried about someone else. Everything we offer is confidential, and support is always free.

If you are not sure where to begin, that is okay. Starting the conversation is enough.

Jackie smiles while gardening in the Nightingales Café garden on Argyle Street. She’s wearing a purple lanyard and using a hand trowel to pot bright orange marigolds. A table in front of her is filled with pots, plant labels, and gardening supplies. A mural on the wall reads “Give Recovery a Chance.”
