Christmas can feel different for everyone. For some people it is all about celebrations, laughter and connection. For others it can bring stress, loneliness, financial pressure, relationship worries or memories that feel difficult. If alcohol or drugs are part of your life, changes to routine can sometimes make things harder too.
You are important. You deserve support, especially at this time of year.
Even though our sites close for a short festive break, there are still people you can talk to and places you can reach out for help.
If you need urgent help
If someone is at immediate risk or you feel unsafe, call 999 right away.
If you need urgent medical advice but it is not an emergency, call NHS 111. They can talk to you about what is happening and help you get the right support quickly.
If you need someone to talk to
There is always someone who will listen.
• Samaritans: Call 116 123 any time, day or night. You do not need to wait until things feel really bad.
• Shout: Text 85258 for free, confidential crisis text support.
• CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably): Call 0800 58 58 58, especially if you are struggling with suicidal thoughts, isolation or pressure.
You do not have to explain everything or know what you want to say. Just taking that first step is enough.
